I have contacted the Salvation Army and the Catholic Family History Society with this query. I'm not sure if the Salvation Army will receive the query, the contact opened in a form (like on this site) but when I clicked the send button, it took me to a page asking me to log in! Time will tell I guess.

I have received a reply from the CFHS. They had forwarded my query to a researcher which is why it took time.

This is what it said.
"There may be some records of St Edward`.s at the Westminster Diocesan Archives,16A Abingdon Rd.,Kensington,London W8 6AF but she ('she' is the researcher) is doubtful. You could also try the Tower Hamlets library or the Catholic Childrens Society [Westminster] 73 St Charles Square,London W10 6EJ"

They also apologise that they cannot be more helpful.

Email has been sent to the 2 suggestions above.

If they don't know then I think I am stumped. It could be a 10 year search of the local newspaper!

Not the Tower Hamlets though they have given me somewhere else to try. Another email to send this weekend!
