Has anyone any idea where New Ground Top was in Burnley Thanks.

On Marsden Rd, on the left going towards Nelson from Lane Head, only about 300 yards on from the Black Bull. Above the 'housing scheme', Ribble/Thames Ave etc.

Thanks for the info Rex also around the same area was there a place called the Delph Fields I seem to remember walking up a street next to the Black Bull Underley St ?? Sues

Thats right Sue. When I was about 5, we lived at 1 Underley St, there was a track ran between us and the Black Bull which went up to the Delph.
I always remember my dad mentioning on the deeds the Holcombe Hunt had rights to hunt over our land-----it was a small garden !!!! but I spent ages waiting for this to happen.

The Proctor families all lived around New Gropund top and areas in the 1800s.
