Hello folks:

I wonder if there are any current postcards of Briercliffe, and, perhaps, postcards showing pictures of "how it used to be", but available now. Are there any "greeting" cards (blank insides, I suppose) featuring Briercliffe pictures?

At least one museum I visited in this part of England (Northumbria) had old photos on new postcards. Black & white pictures.

If anyone can direct me to a website or to an address, I'd be most grateful.

Thanks!

Ross Eldridge

Hi Ross, In answer to your question about black and white vintage postcards featuring Briercliffe, as far as I know there is nowhere in Burnley where you can purchase such cards, mores the pity.
The only way that I know of is to try and bid on e bay for them, as some do come up from time to time.
I myself have to make do with vintage photos of Briercliffe in any books that I am likely to purchase.
I will stand and be corrected on this information though.
Wish I could have been of more help.
Stephanie.

Ebay does occasionally have Briercliffe postcards for sale Ross. They are fetching quite a good price these days as there are quite a few of us interested in them.
Kingsmill in Briercliffe also sells postcards though when I was there with Kris a few weeks ago there were none of Briercliffe.

I think it will be a case of pot luck.

There is a collection of old pictures and postcards for Briercliffe on the main site if you just want to look rather than buy. http://www.briercliffesociety.co.uk/Photo%20Archive.htm
