Very definitely Simonstone. Locally they refer to the Ladies of Simonstone and the Women of Read, because Read was where the workers lived and Simonstone was where the posh people lived. (Think it's t'other way round now tho).

My certificate came yesterday...told me nothing I didn't know. I'm well miffed. It was a death and I was hoping for next of kin or relationship details...at least something to confirm this man as in my tree...nowt. :(

I was hoping it would have given more info that what I had seen on CWGC. No such luck. I believe this is the nephew of my Great Grandmother. I'll have to have a look in the local papers of the time to see if there is anything mentioned there.
