Does anyone know the rules regarding Parish Registers if they have not already been transcribed and published? I have ordered a copy of a "full set" for one particular parish and can only find references to this on the IGI and not anywhere else, not even on the SOGCAT Society of Genealogist Catalogue. If I am going to transcribe the majority of this, then otheres may as well benefit. It is a Cumberland Parish.

I think it may depend on how you plan to publish them Julie. Maybe you could contact the Parish Records section of FreeBMD? This is the website http://freereg.rootsweb.com/

They may be able to you of any rules/regs.

I looked into submitting some of what I had done to them but, if I remember right, they have specific requirements on layout.
