I am trying to find the ages of the deceased for a number of people who died between 1943 and 1977. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can find this? Free BMD and Ancestry to not cover this period.

Ancestry does Kris but you have to look at each individual page of the index for the surname required.

Okay, so I am looking for this man

1963 – LEAVER Harold of 141 Marsden road, Burnley died 22 July 1963. Probate London 3 October to Mary Leaver, widow and Arthur Leaver, company director. Effects £7,429 9s.

How do I find the page?

Go into Births, Marriages and Deaths and this is the top one-----
Complete BMD Index ranges & Images 1837-1983
Bit of a trawl if you don't know the exact year, but useful all the same.
