Post subject: | Unmarried daughters and inheritance |
The will of one of my ancestors states that he left about £60 to be shared between his 7 children. But he had 8 surviving children - all married except 1 (who also had 2 illegitimate children). Would she have been excluded because she was unmarried? I hardly think she would have been disinherited because she had 2 children 'out of wedlock'. She was by no means the only one! Any help appreciated. Thanks Annie |
