:D Maybe all will become clear next week. I tried the 192 website, found people with the correct surname living at the same address as appeared on the death cert. for next of kin. So it may be Benjamin's grandson living in a house he inherited? Have written a brief letter to see if he is the right twig and will wait to see if he wants to reply.??

:D :D :D Thanks Kris, you have done it yet again. The Benjamin Eastwood you found was indeed my mothers cousin, the widow of one of his son's has just telephoned, her daughter's are keen to trace their fathers family tree, I told her to get them help before all is lost and they end up like us. Seriously though, I now only have the eldest James and family to trace and the ones in Brierfield and I will have(more Christmas cards to buy) and almost all the family accounted for.

Great stuff Hannah. What are the details of James Eastwood and the ones in Brierfield, do you have a year of birth and or death?

 Oh yes indeed I do, I have just got everything sorted out , yet again for this new twig of the tree.

Work your magic again.
James Eastwood. born 1872 m. Annie, children Florence Annie 1893 and Fred 1897. Fred survived WW1
James was born on Brennand St Burnley, 1901 is living on Queen Victoria Rd, 1911 at 10 Rawson St, 1919 to 1930 ( when I lost them) at Sharpe St,Burney. Fred appeared on the 1911 census with them.

Thomas Eastwood born1877, m. Sarah, children Fred (killed WW1) Mary E 1900 , 1904 Herbert,1906 Arthur and 1908 Rennie
They lived at 10 Rawson st, (next street to his brother) until1958, Thomas appears to have died about 1950? Sarah moved to live with her daughter, now Mary Burrrows and Husband Willie at 17 Garden St, Brierfield, she died in 1961 and I lost them in 1963.

Rennie had appeared at home all his life until his mothers move, a man of the same name appeared in 1960 at
25 Berkeley St Brierfield with a Sarah Hunt? They were both there until 1985
then no longer on the electors register??

:? I have visited the area but only one resident was there in the 60's and unfortunately cannot remember them.

I think this will be another dead end?

:P Herbert might be a good lead, he only died fairly recently. The new branch say there was a suicide in the family in the 1940's?? Could this be the elder brother, I lost track of in 1930 , James and Annie were at Sharpe st till then.

Thanks for the update, will try that.
Meanwhile, have checked the local paper for Herberts death. NO record for FEb. or March. Maybe he was alone and they just 'got it over with' ? Poor old gentleman.

:( I think I know when I'm def. beaten.
Have made another visit to Burnley Cemetry to search for the eldest brother James b. 1872 and married to Annie. They don't appear to have died!!!
I did find a James Edward who died in 2.12.1981,aged 74 who could have been my James 's son but as far as I can tell there were only Florence and Fred from the marriage.
James Edward is buried with a Ellen who died in 1943 aged 38 and an Edith Eliz. who died 1977 aged 69. Two wives??There is also an infant who died in 1968 aged 6 weeks with the same name as my James's sister in law.

Never mind at least we are back in the premier league and yes my head still aches from last week, but it was worth it!!!!

:| Doubtful, he would have been about 60 when I last found him on the electors register.

:( No prob. , even I'm confused by this tribe of mine. I'm not surprised the ones I have found, no nothing about the others, there must be a huge skeleton in the cupboard,( now that would liven things up a bit!)
