Hi

I have a school photo taken in 1930/40s (Burnley) it is a junior school and the teacher on the photo has been identified as Tommy Preston. I am trying to find out which school it is. Does anyone know a school teacher from the past called Tommy Preston. Have tried to load the photo but it is too big.

Is it possible to email it to me and I'll add it?

Does anyone know which school this was or maybe one of the pupils is your ancestor?

When I saw the photo I thought I recognised it, the exact same photo was published in this Tuesdays Burnley Express.
It was submitted by a Mrs Mia Bonini (nee Sagar) who now lives in Perth Australia, her father is third from the right on the back row his name was Albert Sagar and he lived on Harling Street. The picture was taken in the Rosegrove/Lowerhouse area in about 1931 to 1933.
If you go to www.burnleyexpress.net and go to Pictorial memories of the past you will be able to see it and read a little more about it.

Hi,

OK I know this is an old post, but as the photo is still labelled unknown I thought I better mention that it is Rosegrove School, Owen Street. It was me that sent a copy of this photo to Mia as her father was on it. My father in law who was born October 1921 is also on it and I later asked him which school it was. On the downside I forgot to ask him if it was the Junior School or Senior School and I sadly can`t ask him now. I just wish I had spotted it on the forum before now.
