Along the boundary of Briercliffe, at catlow, Catlow brook runs down Fern valley to Walverden reservoir
There has been an uncontested footpath down there since Adam were a lad, but this is not officially a right of way.

The new owners of the land there have just put up signs to discourage or bar the public from using the path. There are no fences barring the way as yet, but given they appear to want to use it for quad bikes etc, it may not be long.
The Ramblers assoc are applying to get it recognised as a PROW so that the public can continue to use the path.

Many people walk the dogs down there or just visit for the beautiful scenery.

What is needed is evidence from locals that have walked the route before to fill a form in and prove the route has been used as a footpath for 20 years + uncontested

If anyone from Briercliffe or anyone who knows anyone that would have used the footpath for more than 20 yrs and is willing to fill a form to say so could contact me initially and I can let them have copies of the form and arrange to send them on to the Ramblers etc.

Thanks
