A Happy New Year to you all.I have a copy of the 1841 Lancashire census which unfortunately has no index. I have been trying to trace Benjamin Titherington ( various spellings ) who I've found in the 1851 census living in Block Hall Great Marsden with his son in law James Foulds. He would be 74 in 1841. Can anyone help? |

Well he's not living with James Foulds. |

Drawn a complete blank on this one I'm afraid Gill. I've just done a search for a male born 1765+/-20 and still can't find him! Mind you there were over 42000 results so he could he slipped through the net. |

Thanks for all your efforts Mel. He's yet another relative who vanishes from a census. I know he was alive then because I found him ten years later. |

Tried everything I know Gill but I can't find anything - but then if Mel couldn't, I didn't really expect to. |

Thanks Maureen. Other relatives I've eventually found who have been missing off the index. I also found some Rawsons who had been indexed as Dawson. |

Hi Gill I know this is a long time after your post, and you probably have your answers by now. Benjamin was a mystery to me for years, but I eventually found him on the 41 census and also his baptism. If you need any help contact me (if I don't respond, email me at arkefrith@gmail.com ) regards Colin Titherington |

Thanks Colin. I have emailed you, but am nevertheless posting a reply here. I never did find the 1841 entry for Benjamin Titherington. I think I found his burial on 3.12. 1851 aged 85. He was living in Gt Marsden at the time of his death. Gill |
