Hello I hope someone can help my family find out why our family grave has been desecrated . I went to put flowers on my fathers grave on Monday April 5th only to find a huge pile of earth covered by a tarpaulin ,the headstone and plinth were laid down nearby,i was shocked and very upset.I usually visit at Christmas but weather being bad did not.My brother who is secretary of Briercliffe Club and myself are pensioners ourselves.so not able to go often. Last april 2009 the grave was ok though the stone was sinking a bit . The Family name is Leighton.and the grave is on the high ground by the path. I noticed side stones from a lot of graves piled up on graves which looks awful. What on earth is happening ,the whole graveyard is an eyesore, can anyone throw any light on what is happening please ? |

Hi June, welcome to the forum. I believe there has been a lot of work going on in the graveyard lately. I think the best thing you could do is contact the Chapel. I would imagine they would be the only ones who could provide you with this information. |
