Jerusalem. Can anyone remember Jerusalem Farm? When I was a child people would plague me about going to Jerusalem. I think it was at Thursden. It was ruin then so I suppose it has gone. :?

Jerusalem was on the Monk Hall side of the river, on top of the hill, up Thursden-----hope that makes sense. On the opposite side of the valley to Broadbank if you know where that is. The ruin of it can be seen on Multimap but there is no name to it. On the OS map look for Ell Clough, underneath which it says Tumuli, Jerusalem is off to the right of that--you can see the ruin if you then go to aerial map.

I remember the ruin of Jerusalem Farm. Many years ago my dad had a strange experience when he was walking on the road towards Thursden. He looked across to the farm, which had been a ruin for many years, and he saw the ghosts of a bride and groom drifting across the field towards the farm. When they reached a wall near the farm they just disappeared! He walked that way many a time but he never saw it again. Spookie!!!

I don't know if anyone else has heard about these ghosts, but I would be interested to know if they had and could maybe tell me more about it.

Gloria, can you remember Roger speaking of a book he and the policeman were writing about spokks and boggarts etc.? I seem to remember them mentioning it when we had the walk around Extwistle a couple of years ago. Any idea if it was published?

I really don't know Mel, I would have thought he would have had some at the meetings for sale if it had been published.

I'll send him an email to ask.

I wonder why he doesn't bring books to sell? I've noticed there is another one out.

No, he did a brief section in the township book but I remember him telling us he would be doing one on ghosts and the like and that the policeman was doing the illustrations. I'll get to the bottom of it.

I was right, there was talk of a book. It's not yet complete.....Rockyrobin, Roger would like an introduction. Would it be OK to forward your email address to him? Where in the world are you?
