Does anyone know if it is possible to find employees of the various cotton mills in and around Burnley in the early 1900,s?

Good question Gill, I would be interested in the answer to that. I would have thought the individual mills would have had records as to who they paid wages to, but I doubt if any of them would still be in existence. Maybe there could be something at the Weavers Triangle, I haven't called there so cannot say what is there.
I wonder if Queens St Mill still has their records??????

I think Queen St Mill still has some. Didn't Roger once say he was organising a visit there for us to look through them? (except it didn't happen)

I think Gloria, when we were there for the book launch last year, that there was some books in glass cases. Half a feeling that they were employee records but only half!!

I think you are right Mel, I vaguely remember them. And, yes Maureen we were supposed to be looking at them at some point, but it never happened.
