What do you plan to do with all the research material you have gathered over the years?

As a woman with no kids and no intention to have any, this has crossed my mind often - increasingly as I get older. Who to leave it to...or where? There are organisations that will accept your research but it does have to be in some sort of order.

Kris and I are agreed that we will leave ours to each other (or that was the plan once?) but as we are the same age (OK, I'm 5 months older!), it's still something to think about as, potentially, I could have Kris's material to deal with as well as my own!

What are your thoughts? Are you lucky enough to have any interested offspring?

No offspring...yet.

My only fellow related researchers are all about 30 years older than me, too!

So yeah, not really sure what I'll do with it.

Didn't you say that someone had contributed huge swathes of Kippaxian research to one of the Burnley area libraries...?

Colne library has filing cabinet(s) with various info in it given to them by Doreen Crowther (I think).

But would they be interested if we all started to do that?

There isn't much on the Kippax family in the Crowther collection, and some of it has no verification, it seems to be only assumption.
None of my family are interested, but I envisage our granddaughter being lumbered with it-----poor thing she is only 6.
I suppose the Kippax side, who are all of Briercliffe origin could be left to the Briercliffe Society, but would Roger want another load of stuff in his spare room???

Would you really want it to end up in a spare room never to see light of day? I'd want my to end up being accessible to all...and for free

Queen St Mill for the Briercliffe stuff--maybe???? It isn't as though it would be interesting to lots of people so I don't think they would want them on show-----Burnley Library, Burnley Family History Group, LFHHS?????
LFHHS would possibly be a good one for Lancashire families as they have the research room at The Straits, Oswaldtwistle.

I thought the Crowther stuff was supposed to be particularly good re: the Kippaxes...? Or do I have it confused with another batch somewhere...?

I didn't mean I would want it on show - just accessible to anyone who wanted access. Like the Doreen Crowther stuff.

The collection is valuable as a resource Stephen but unfortunately Doreen hasn't cited any of her sources so although the info is there, the hunt is still on for the original source.
