I have just been looking at the photo of Brownhill with great interest.
My G-Grandmother was a servant at 2 Brownhill in 1851 working for Mary Holgate visiting that day of the 1851 Cenus was Elizabeth Fishwick (age 40)
4 Brownhill lived Mr Thomas Sutcliffe and family and next door at number 6 was Mrs Maragret Heelis and her son.
My G-Grandmother Agnes May must have come all the way from Staindrop in Durham to work for the Holgate Family.
I wonder which number of Brownhill this photo was taken and what year
