I have been searching the Electoral Registers for Burnley to try and establish when my 2x Great Uncle left Burnley to go and live in Blackburn.
He appears on the 1904/05 register under the heading:
Persons registered as Parlimentary Electors, enrolled as Burgesses and registered as parochial electors
He is living at 97 Althol St but also has the addresses 62 Hulme St and 19 Warwick street next to his name, in 1903 he was living at Warwick St and later in 1903/04 he lived at Hulme St. Does this mean he owned the houses and rented them out?

On a photograph that was found at my Grandads house he is described as a former Mayor of Blackpool, I know that isn't true but I wonder whether he had ever stood as a councillor! The photograph shows him sat in the middle of the family group with the family sat around him and his parents at either edge, I have worked out that it was taken between 1905 and 1907

I think it would mean he owned the houses but I would ask the staff at the library to be sure.

Could someone else in the photo have been mayor?
