Post subject:  Old maps - dates?

Does anyone know the dates of the 1st edition OS maps of the Burnley and Pendle areas? Perhaps 1840s or 50s?

Browsing through the posts on Grocers this morning, I came across the reference to Mario maps of Lancashire:

http://mario.lancashire.gov.uk/agsmario/

plus instructions how to use them:

On the opening page click on Open Mario. This will give a view of Lancashire. Draw the initial expansion box under the "BC" of Burnley BC. This should give you the current Burnley centre. Use the expansion and move controls to get where you need to be.
In the left hand table select "Historical Information" then use the tick box for OS first addition 1,2500.

As Gordon said, what an amazing resource. Once again, Lancashire seems to lead the way in helping historical researchers!

Thanks again Briercliffe website for a brilliant new lead!
