Anybody have access to any records which may, but probably from past searches I've made, may not, find the record of a John Thistlethwaite born 1712. His wife is listed with two birthdates 1723 and 1682.

She was Margaret Close and the marriage is listed as 1744?

That would make her the 1723 date and the usual age for marriage but he was in his 30's???? Why had he waited so long or, was there and earlier marriage to someone that I cannot find and children from marriage no 1 ?

If I cannot add him to my tree I will surrender and admit they are untraceable, 9 years is too long to keep looking for them :(

Thanks to anyone proves he is or is not my 6 X great grandfather

Do we know what his occupation was? Several of my ancestors waited until around their 30s for their first marriage. One thought is that he may have been apprenticed to someone and not free to marry.

Hannah, there is a post you may not have seen as it required approval. My apologies for the delay, I have not been in front of the computer much in the last week or so
