Does anyone know if there is or was a Stanhope St in Burnley in 1911? I have a relative who lived there, but the only one I can find is in Worsthorne. |

It's still in existence, Gill, see Googlemaps. Off Royle Rd (east), a cul de sac, near the station. Many other streets around have gone in redevelopment. Interestingly, I first looked in my 1953 directory. Houses 2 to 26, evens only. Of these 13 houses, only 7 are apparently occupied, suggesting the houses might be about to be knocked down. Maybe they were. We need to have a look, but I'm 200 miles off, and I think you are too ! Rex |

Thanks for that Rex. Unfortunately I've made a boob. I've looked again and it looks like Stanworth St. |

Stanworth st is (is or was) part of Elm st. I think it was just above Old Hall St. |

Stanworth Street was demolished years ago, it was between Elm Street and Travis Street. My Dad had a coal round and delivered on there. We lived on Milner Street. |

hi, yes, sort of, if you look on google maps you will see that there is a building which is named Bean Good Coffee. It used to be a health centre. Stanworth Street was on the land which is now grassed over. The big building on Elm Street used to be Lucas and is now a business centre. |
