I have managed to get hold of "Registers of Parish Church of Colne 1599-1653" so if anyone would like me to look for anything just ask. I am so excited about this. :P

I saw it on e bay I think Gloria, I nearly bid on it
I wonder if there are many more registers around for different years. I would imagine that a lot has now been filmed and the books just take up room in the archives.

The whole book noooooo, you should see the speed of my typing.
There are 16 named Sutcliffes, but more pages than that, if that makes sense. Do you want me to put them on here or another part of the forum, as in under the surname?

I was getting so excited for a minute - I've been doing a Medley tree for a friend and many of them are Colne/ Foulridge. But when I checked, the earliest I can get is a marriage in 1774. I just need to get back another 100 years or so...
What are they like Gloria, are they really fragile and difficult to read

Hey Mel, remember that Bernard Sutcliffe grave I found at Colne? He died in the 1600’s if I remember. Do you still have that photo? I lost it when my laptop crashed…
