The picture at the other end of the link is believed to be Delma Gardens.
Can anyone confirm this?

Note:I have removed the link to the picture as I have removed the picture. It was confirmed that the picture was taken at the ILP at Roggerham.

My mother-in-law thinks it is the ILP in the fields at Roggerham.

I just dicovered this site and am interested in the photo which you removed.
My brother and I are, since the death of our Mum Annie Dower, trustees of the cottage known as 'Cloughcroft' and which you refer to as the ILP cottage.
The ILP (Independent Labour Party) was active for many years and did indeed have 'picnics' every weekend at the cottage.
Tea was supplied in pint pots for fourpence (4D), half pint pots at tuppence (2D), refills were all one penny (1D).
Dad maintained the cottage for many years until his death some years ago and the cottage is now in a pretty derekict condition. But having gone there every weekend from one month old until I was sixteen memories abound, and the place still has a very special atmosphere for us.
I have a lot of photos of the cottage - including some from 'sports days' when literally hundreds of people would walk from Burnley and district to join in.
I would be interested to see the picture which you have if that is possible.
Cheers,
johnnyd

HI Johnnyd, welcome to the forum.

I can't remember why I removed the picture? I'll root it out over the weekend and add a link here

Hi Mel.
This is definitely the ILP cottage - probably in the 40's.
The building was known as the pavilion and saw many an event on the field.
We visited the cottage at the weekend and it is very overgrown now - no chance of a cricket match anymore.
I will still try to find the other pics and will post.

Just looking through the rest of the pics and noticed that the one labelled 'Love Clough Cottage, Roggerham. Formerley Old Tattys' is also a picture of the ILP cottage.
It may have been called that at some time but I have always known it as 'Clough Croft' and understood the last person to live there was called Jack Howson.

I wonder if you are monitoring this thread JohnnyD? I have had a query regarding the images you refer to.

FYI to anyone interested in this topic, I have received emails from a couple of different people querying the posts from Johnny_d. I have sent him an email via the forum in the hope that the registered address is still active. Bearing in mind that the posts are quite old, it's possble that the email address is no longer valid.
