About 1pm last Tuesday I visited St. Peter’ church at Burnley, upon entering I noticed there were several Muslim (hijab covered) woman playing with children. I thought this strange being the Parish church, but proceeded to look around anyway. I was approached by one of the woman wearing hijab and was told this was a “mother and baby” group and that I had to leave because of health and safety. I was very polite and told the lady I was a visitor and wanted to take a photograph of the war memorial, which I did, but I was wondering if I was actually asked to leave because I was a man, and these were Muslim woman?
Can anyone shed any light on this?
