This is nothing to do with Briercliffe but someone may know something about it.
About 10-15yrs ago we got delivered a load of stone from a graveyard which was being tidied in Altham/Clayton-le-Moors Accrington. We have since moved and the load of stone came with us. We have found amongst it a kerbstone with "Grisdale Baxenden" engraved on it. We have rooted through the rest but I think it is the only one which is engraved. The graveyard belonged to St Mary's R.C Devonshire Drive, Clayton le Moors and is situated on Burnley Rd, on the Altham side of the canal bridge. If anyone has any connections with this stone then I can be contacted through this site.
