Was it okay?
The one we heard at Preston was very good and didn't portray it bad at all, in fact quite the reverse. It was only in the latter years that it developed a stigma. We were shown photos, maps and architectural drawings, all very interesting.

Mel, remember the community flyer that was discussed about 2 years back? Well, here is an example I found at My Grandma’s nursing home.

WANTED
YOUR STORIES AND MEMORIES OF OLD BRIERCLIFFE AND BURNLEY
Can you remember going to the old dance halls, catching the tram into town, giving birth to your children at Bank Hall Hospital, watching Burnley win the League – or any other happy times from the past?

I had a happy occurrance in Burnley, that was when i was born at Bank Hall Maternity Hospital on the 29th November 1928 at 1-15 am.

It's on the 30th....I have an email from Roger with details. I'll update the events calendar. I must email him again, he was having a projector issue and I offered the use of mine. Not sure yet if he will need it?

Roger is hoping to give an illusrated talk on new additions to the Briercliffe Society collection. The 'hope' is because of the projector issue.

How much advanced notice do you and yours require to ensure that you aren't off on another holiday :?:
I loved meeting Mel and her mom...and Maureen. Wish I'd had much more time. It was such a treat atttending the meeting and imagining that I was sitting in my dad's old classroom from 9 decades ago...and the place, though musty, is still in good use. Next time, Gloria......for sure!

Shame you didn't get to meet Roger, he is the driving force behind anything historical in Briercliffe.
Hopefully next time you can meet us all.

The Local History Group is to hear a talk about Briercliffe and the Second World War. It will be given by Roger Frost who is looking for items to exhibit on the evening of the talk. If you have items, photographs or anything that links Briercliffe to World War II, Roger would like to hear from you. Please contact me and I will forward Rogers details to you
