So you were there last week - who were you I wonder :?:

Would you be the lady on the right of the room, at the end of a row? \maybe about four rows back?

Yes, there was a lady in front of Sue who kept looking our way. I wonder now if that was Marg.

Wasn't Sue further along the row across from us?
Ha ha people tend to look our way----methinks we must be a bit odd, or perhaps that's just you

If it's any consolation, I thought that a lot of the staring was directed at me. I felt like quite an interloper at first!

Ooooo they're a nosey lot up there
Stephen, did you make any notes about what Roger was saying about the Haggate Board School, he showed a slide which is on this site? Do you remember of he said where it was?

I didn't, I'm afraid. All of the notes I took have already been written up.

I don't have much ancestral interest in the schools, unfortunately. Only Lanehead National School's timeline crosses over into that of my ancestral Kippaxes.

Stephen, we have probably had this conversation before, but I would think yours and my Kippaxs must go back to the same James Kippax who died 1769 and is buried at St Peters Burnley.
Do you have your tree in a format by which Mel could put it on this site?

Gloria, your James and my Robert would appear to be brothers, and children of Edward ('the bastard'). Interestingly, I seem to have found a possible wife for this Edward. Have you found one up to this point? It's in the "British Vital Records" but I'm not really sure what they are!

My tree is currently a mishmash of conjecture and assumptions. I've not had any time to look at the stuff I've been getting from Burnley, so I don't have it in any decent format yet, I'm afraid.

I think it might look better written up into essay form than displayed as a tree, though. There are so many stories to tell that I fear would get lost in the usual gedcom/ged formats...

Course, I remember now we have spoken about it.
I think I have Edward's (Edward the bastard's father) marriage, but not all that sure. It is just by process of elimination as I cannot find another Edward who it could be.
Marriage of Edward Kippax to Grace Hewet 6th Feb 1701 at St Bartholomews Colne.
Seems a bit of a coincidence that Edward Kippax and Grace "Sympson" had Edward, then he marries another named Grace. I have looked for info on Grace Hewet/Sympson but cannot find anything.
I haven't found a marriage for Edward born 1696.

The Grace thing is indeed odd. The whole Edward thing is actually. I've got a spare 50 minutes, so I'm going to take a closer look at this. I'll put it in a Kippax thread so we can bore everyone else with it.
