Masked raiders strike at Spar shop



THREE balaclava-clad robbers snatched a till from the Spar shop in Burnley Road, Briercliffe, last night.
The raiders, who were all wearing balaclavas and dark-coloured tracksuits, were armed with a rusty chain and a baseball bat.

Two young shop assistants who were serving at the time have been left shocked and shaken by the incident.

Det. Sgt Vinny De Curtis said that the offenders ran off in the direction of Finsley Street after the raid at 9-30 p.m. He added that lots of people would have been in the area at the time and appealed for them to come forward.

The offenders were all approximately 5ft. 9in. tall and one spoke with an Asian accent and a second with a North West accent.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Burnley police on 425001 or Crimestoppers, free and in confidence, on 0800 555 111.

"Google Alerts are email updates of the latest relevant Google results (web, news, etc.) based on your choice of query or topic."

They are not always 'the latest' results though.
I have Briercliffe, Extwistle and Worsthorne set up in case anything interesting appears for the site.

Anyone can use this facility. Just type alerts into the google search and it'll be the first choice.
