The Institute of Local & Family History is based at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN).
On Saturday 27th April they are holding a conference entitled 'Discoverig the North West in the National Archives' It takes the form of 5 one-hour lectures on subjects such as An Overview of the National Archives for family historians: Paupers; Civil Registration in 19th century Lancashire; Criminal records and the demand for reform in the NW. The lecturers include Peter Park and 3 members of staff from the National Archives. There should be a Kew to get in.
