From LFHHS yahoo forum

For anyone who is interested, the new series of 'Who Do You Think You Are' starts on Thursday 7th August 2014, BBC 1 at 9.00 pm. This first programme features Julie Walters.
(Apparantly there is a one hour special on Wednesday 6th August, celebrating 10 years of Who Do You Think You Are).

I like Julie Walters, I might just watch. I wonder who else is lined up?

Thanks Gloria

I enjoyed the '10 years - 100 people' special. Probably more than the individual episodes.
Just watching Julie Walters, I like her. It does look like a fairly good line up this series.

I have videoed the 10yrs and not watched it yet. I thought Julie Walters very good and not at all actressy as some of them are. I loved the way she had to touch the wall of the bit of old house which was left standing.
Looking forward to the rest.

I probably found hers more intriguing because I have Mayo ancestors. I had hoped to get pointers of what to look for and where. Very interesting though. I did like the wall touch, I think I would have done that.

I quite like most of the WDYTYAs, even watched some of the American ones. The best seem to be the ones where they go back on both sides rather than just one; but I expect that's the editing to make a decent storyline for the programme.
Sometimes, though, the subject does seem to know it all already-
(Do you think we'll have to turn the TV volume control down for the BRIAN BLESSED!!! one?

Ha ha he is a larger than life character.
Has anyone been watching "Secrets from the Clink" on ITV? I thought at first it was a spin off from WDYTYA but then realised --- wrong side.

Found it, I have downloaded it to watch later/over the weekend. The Clink was a two-parter. The next one is Secrets From The Asylum.

Well, what did we think of the Brian Blessed WDYTYA?? Felt sorry for Barnabus Blessed and his family, and I wonder how on earth Jabez managed to find Charles, not as though you could drop him a line, e-mail or facebook and do a search??
