Thanks Gloria For anyone on Facebook, FindmyPast and the British Newspaper Archive have had 1 month £1 offer for the last 2 or 3 months. You have to use the code from the ad. For the newspapers, this month I think is MAR01 |

I recommend taking this offer, especially if access to the 1939 register will be included. They announced yesterday that it will be launched next week! I will be unavailable on Monday

It looks like the 1939 will not be included in a subscription. I'm excited about its release but disgusted that it looks like it will be an extra charge. The 1931 census was destroyed during the Second World War, and the conflict meant the 1941 census could not be taken. The 1939 Register is, therefore, the only surviving record of the people of England and Wales in the 30 year period 1921-1951, and fills the gap left by the missing censuses.
