If you go on this site look for this directory under Lancashire and Burnley. Page 314 on has a great section on Briercliffe with some really interesting information from 1896.

Kris, for some reason those links you have put up are not working, they go to the right page but then there is just a list of computer instructions. Got there eventually going through from the beginning.

This is brilliant David.

The Sutcliffe Sutcliffe watchmaker (in bold on the page) was my Gt Gt Grandmothers brother. He is buried at St Thomas in Barrowford. Haven't yet looked closely at any of the others.
