Mel, you run this site very well. I like the e-mails to say someone has added to a thread I have been involved in. You do LOTS.

Is that not a tickbox option below the reply box? I didn't think it was automatic for all. I don't get notifications.

I don't do an awful lot on the forum except read it (probably) far too often and respond when I can.
I like to update the site as often as possible but while I'm away it is a little more difficult. Unfortunately, I have to be sociable :(

No, pretty sure I have never ticked a box, isn't that on the oneguy site?
Oh just noticed it is ticked automatically, I have to knock the tick off to cancel it-------age AGAIN----stupid, stupid woman.

Mel,

Sorry to create any confusion. Just wanted to say thanks for the
reminder I had a messge. Whether it was automatic or not, it is
certainly a good system. And you are doing an excellent job as
moderator (hope that is the correct title).

Janet :)

Thank you all for your compliments.
I'm still getting used to the forum side of things but it seems to be going well.

I've just joined the forum and am very pleased I found it. I'm interested in the Bannisters in the Burnley area: I believe my gt-gt-grandfather Henry Bannister (b c1810 in Colne) married Alice Nutter, (b c1818 in Briercliffe) at St Peter's church - I haven't a date, but it was before 1836. Alice is the only Nutter ancestor I know of so far, and I hope someone can help me with her ancestry.

Hi Charon, welcome to the site.
Someone may be able to help you, there are plenty of Nutter researchers around.

I have a Nutter file which was sent to me by someone on the Oneguy site (I think). I have no idea how to get it on here as it has to be opened with Corel photo album 6. I will try to e-mail it to you Mel if you think you can get it on here.

Gloria, can you save it out as a gedcom? Don't think I have heard of Corel. Email it to me anyway and I will see if Lyndon can do anything with it. I'm available on the usual Briercliffe address.

Received it OK Gloria. Can receive email but am currently having problems sending them.

I will see what I can do with it later or over the weekend. It needs entering into a tree software program in order to add it to the site. Do you know whose it it? I don't feel comfortable adding the details to the site without permission of the 'author'.

It came from http://www.oneguyfrombarlick.co.uk/topi ... itle=Names

The last one I sent was from http://www.oneguyfrombarlick.co.uk/topi ... Ann+Cestor

this last one I don't know if Doc put it on site or Annie sent it to me, either way there shouldn't be a problem putting that on.

Thanks Gloria. I'll do a check before I add it just to make sure we are not treading on anyones toes.

Received your other email fine, thanks. It should copy and paste though there is the grid that probab;y won't. I'll have a fiddle when I have time, later/weekend and see what happens.
