Help, advice please
We are thinking of changing from Orange to Talktalk, one of my problems is how do I tell all my contacts of the change of e-mail address without doing it all seperately. I don't know how to e-mail everyone at once.---age :( Also the last time we changed was from AOL to Orange, and we had all sorts of trouble setting it up, although they had sent what were discribed as "simple instructions". The deal they are offering is much better than the deals we are on now all lumped together, but I don't know if I want to be bothered with all the hassle.

Forget Orange or Talktalk email accounts, sign up to Google mail (G mail) and have unlimited storage in an easy to use format. Oh, and did I mention it is free?

If you want to email lots of people, you need to insert “;” between the email address.

Thanks Kris.
We have orange broadband and bt phone at the moment. Talktalk are offering broadband plus anytime landline calls for a lot less. Like I said, we had loads of trouble changing before, so I am more than a bit windy doing it.
The telling contacts scenario, is a different thing again. I would have thought there was a way to email "all contacts" and it would do it in one go.

I think I would be inclined to agree with Kris and go for the google account. It won't matter who your provider is then.

How do you access your mail now Gloria? Do you use outlook or outlook express?

No Mel, I go into Orange and click on e-mails. I have looked in My Programmes and I have Outlook Express so perhaps I use that. You know me Mel "Totally Computer Illiterate", if it works, don't mess with it, if it doesn't -----helpppppp.

You use webmail then.

If you go to the 'addresses' section where you have all your contacts - there should be an export option. You could try that? I'm not sure what the instructions will be as it is something I have never done.

When are you planning on changing?

Not sure if I am going to change, would make sense to because of the cost difference. But, talktalk keep ringing up, and quite frankly that annoys me, so they are doing a good job of putting me off. I know these people have a job to do but "I will get back to you" means I, Me, Myself, Je, Moi. They are very pleasant but very pushy.

You could probably compose a new mail and click on the contacts individually (after clicking the name the address should populate the address bar). When this is done, you could copy (Control C) and paste (Control V) the details into your email of choice, Gmail preferably.

Does this make sense?

Thanks Kris, yes it does.
Mel, pushy sales people put me off, the more they push, the less likely I am to buy from them. O H took the last call yesterday, and told her, "my wife has said she will phone you", we have heard nothing since.
