This should be a link to a pilot for the familysearch site - it has more than just the old IGI etc and is worth a look.

I was told about this site over a year ago but had forgotten about it!
Thanks Julie.

According to the 'Who Do You Think You Are' magazine, http://www.familysearch.org have now got civil registrations records for Ireland from 1845 to 1958. 'More than 23 million records can now be viewed as digital images of pages from original indexes.'

Has anyone had a look at the 'Record Search Pilot' on the familysearch website?

I have briefly looked at it in the past but this morning I was left quite gobsmacked. I started off being a bit annoyed with it. I found a reference on the 'old' search that was church member submitted, I decided to have a look at the same reference on 'search pilot' to see what (if any) differences there might be. My first thouhts were that it did not state that it was member submitted and that this could be deceiving as the member submissions are more open to human error and a little less relaible than the church record extractions. Then I found a link that said 'view image' so I clicked it. It was the image of the actual church record! The whole page, revealing a couple of siblings of the person I had searched!

I think my day is now organised
