This confirms that it is St James, the name is William Spooner Hoole. I think he was incumbent for many years. There are one or two news articles about him on the site.

Have you looked in the church records on the main site? St James records are there from the church opening to 1900 and there are also some Haggate records, up to about 1820ish I think.
