Looks to me like it could have been the same lads who put their video on You Tube. You will notice that one of them took a photo of the electic wires, this is one of the photos posted. I suggest looking at the cameras they were probably students doing a photograpic course, also juding by the photos posted.

Afternoon all.

I was browsing the internet, looking for information on my house (which is in Briercliffe) when I came across this forum. I saw this thread about Extwistle hall & HAD to join to comment on it.

Forgive me, but I haven't read the whole 7 pages  What I wanted to say is that my husbands Great, Great Grandad (could be another Great in there) used to own Extwistle hall, until it sadly got married out of the family. My husbands grandad has got a load of information on it as well. It's so sad that it's been left to fall apart. I'm not too sure if anyone is investing in it, but I always said that I'd buy it if I won the lotto

It's such a beautiful building.

Hi clezabell, welcome to the forum. I'm sure that a lot of us feel the same, and wish that we had the money, there are few buildings around that need some love and attention, its a crying shame.

Hi Clezabell,
who is your husband's grandad? Is he the gentleman who comes to the History Society and lives on Nelson Rd?

I've no Idea if he goes to the History Society. His name is Mr Richmond & he lives very near to Egde End High school.
Warwick drive.

No it doesn't appear to be the person I was thinking of.
Mel, I was thinking of the older gentleman who knows a lot of the history of Extwistle.

120 new homes planned for Briercliffe?

PART of Briercliffe could be transformed with up to 120 new homes and the ambitious £2m. refurbishment of an historic hall.

Mixed feelings about this - if I lived around there I'd not be too happy about all teh extra traffic. On the other hand, if they don't do something with Extwistle Hall soon there'll be nothing left to do anything with.
