No stone, but I imagine there would be a record of burial somewhere...?

I had assumed that there was simply a Kippax-shaped hole in the Briercliffe/Haggate photographic world. If this isn't the case, then I'd dearly love to see some distant relatives! The best I have to offer would be photographs of the son and several grandchildren of my Kippaxian Briercliffe emigree, Sarah (1826/1879). I should have a photo of her grave somewhere too actually, but quite where it is is a bit of a mystery at the moment!

Mel, I took a photo of this grave http://www.briercliffesociety.co.uk/Gra ... known1.htm but I think Stephen is referring to this pic http://www.briercliffesociety.co.uk/Pho ... Digger.htm

I presume the photo would date to circa 1905-10.

It was me who took the picture then.

I am heading off to France in a couple of hours but once I get to the other side, I'll have a loook to see if I can find the picture I took of the same area.

The uniform of the unknown football team looks similar to the one worn by the Haggate Sunday School Champions (1922-23) http://www.briercliffesociety.co.uk/Pho ... mpions.htm

Does anyone know when the Sunday school league championships were played, or at least an approximate month? If so, we could probably find an article in the Burnley Express which lists the player’s names.

I've added a number of images to the photo archive this week. Thanks Joan Simpson and Kris.

I've also created a couple of new folders as some of the were getting quite long. This has prompted Lyndon to suggest the site gets a small revamp and I also want to reduce the size of the Burnley folders. Not sure how much of the revamp will be admin and how much will be visible on the live site but please let me know if you spot any problems. I'm hoping he might start work on it later today or tomorrow. (still slave driving even though we are in France  )

I'm not a sun worshipper.
I was waiting for Lyndon to shift himself so we could go to the market.
Been there, eaten out and I'm now avoiding a paint brush!
