Help! I am looking for a Henry Procter born in or around 1774 in Pendelton so the IGI says but I know they are only guessing this. He marryed a Mary howorth of heyhouses at Whalley on the 21/12/1793 she was born in 1778 and died in 27/4/1820 aged 42. Henry died in or about 1849 aged 76 at Yarn or Yarn Place Burnley Both Mary and Henry are buried in Padiham church yard, the church yard records for these years have been lost.I have loked in the following church records, Burnley Padiham Whalley and Clitheroe but drawn a blank, I need to find this birth before I can go further back in my tree.
Magazine man.

Hi Magazine Man, welcome to the forum.
It sounds like you have explored the possibilities I might have suggested. The only other places I can think of are Colne and Newchurch in Pendle, I think they were both in use for the years you are interested.
What about Non-Conformist? Again, I'm not sure which would have been open for the time you are interested in but have you tried any of them?

Hi Mel
Have looked in both Newchurch in Pendle and Colne + or - five years but nothing shows up, of course he could have been registered a few more years on the plus side, will have to go back to the records office in Preston and have another look but only when I can get of our estate, its a no go area for cars just now, I have not been back to the records office since August 2008, I lost my wife of 46 years suddenly and its only now that I am beging to come to terms with the loss. I did not feel like looking up the dead for this period.
