I think now that I have been researching the wrong Catlow family. I have the marriage cert of my gggrandfather William Henry Smith c1840 who married an Ann Catlow c1837. I know it is the correct cert because I applied for his oldest daughter Martha Ann's birth cert first. They married at St Peter's Burnley and so I have inadvertantly got on the wrong track and assumed a Sarah Ann Catlow was the person as her details seemed to fit and Ive had people who have married with their name not quite correct on the cert before.

Her father is listed as Samuel Catlow 'factory operative'. Would any body be able to help as where to go next please? I cannot find the family on the 1871 census either and I know they have moved to Thornaby, Yorks by then. That is how I am linked because we come from the same area. :?

Hi Lynda, please post the marriage details in a format like this:

When – 6th February 1897
Where – St Alban at the Parish of St. Paul’s, Burnley
Groom – George Hindle, 23 years, Bachelor, carter of 24 Rumley road
Bride – Ellen Varley, 21years, Spinster, Weaver of 19 Reed street
Grooms father – James Hindle (deceased), Contractor
Brides father – William Varley (deceased), Grinder
Witnesses – John Varley and Mary Whittaker

Once you supply the information, I will help you. I suspect we are related further back and I probably have some research information in my tree.

Hi Lynda,
haven't managed to find them in 1871, what children did they have by then?
