Treat for Evacuees

Twenty-two of the Bradford schoolgirl evacuees were invited to tea provided by Mrs. W. Storey in the cafe last Monday night. They afterwards participated in various games and a sing-song. The children were accompanied by a teacher, who warmly thanked Mrs. Storey.

Mills Restart

Following an extended stoppage, work was resumed last Monday morning at Harle Syke Mill Company's No.1 and 2 sheds, Thornton's Manufacturing Co., Haggate Weaving Co., South View Manufacturing Co., Mason, West and Bather's King's Mill, H. J. Crowther's Primrose Mill, F. Atkinson & Sons, and Hill End Manufacturing Co.

I sort of did. There was an email many months ago from a chap whose mum had been an evacuee. I can't remember what he was asking/saying now :shock:
