The Probate Index for 1872 lists him as Lawrence Catlow Spencer M.D.

On the National probate calender
17 July 1872
The Will of Lawrence Catlow Spencer,late of Preston M.D.,who died 1 May 1872 at Preston
was proved by Joseph Isherwood of Preston,Cotton Manufacturer and Edward Garlick of Preston,Civil Engineer,the surviving executors
Effects under 7000 pounds.

Hope this is of interest

England & Wales, National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations),
This is the database title
