Hi,

I'm trying to trace John Catlow b 1774 Colne. Married Betty Wilson b? married in Colne. I would like to find John's parents. I believe they are: Lawrence Catlow b 1750 & Ellin (Ellen) Hargreaves b ? Colne.

I found this info off familysearch & Lancashire Online Parish Records have some info to support it, but my anc**try subscription won't allow me to view these transcripts. Also would like to find John's siblings too.

Thanks, In Advance,

Dazzaqc

Hi Dazzaqc
I can't find any reference to the John Catlow on Ancestry. Are you sure the transcript is thiere?

Dazzaqc,

The Ancestry transcript only gives the date of marriage 5 Jan 1795 plus their names and where they were married. It unfortunately doesn't give parents details.

Unfortunately parents details were not included on pre-1837 marriage certificates except in some Non-Conformist establishments.

Your best bet is to look for baptisms. Pre-1837 research tends to be process of elimination unfortunately.
