The Haggate burials are transcribed only to mid 19c, but are all I think on microfilm, maybe fiche, in Burnley library. Is there a kind person out there who could seek the following, please. May or may not be there !

Francis SMITH, died 1897.
Mary SMITH (wife), died 1891 to 1901

As some contributors to the site will know, I have quite a lot of Briercliffe information to hand, not least the Quaker 'census' of 1843, noted elsewhere on the site. Please ask.

If you can help, best to say so here so that it isn't done twice.

Rex

Hi Rex,

if I get to Burnley in time this afternoon, I'll pop to the library and see if there is a film reader free.

Do you have a rough age for Francis and Mary? I don't see Francis being too bad but Mary Smith could be quite common.

Hopefully you will see this message before I leave!

Mel,

As you can see, I didn't log on earlier !

Francis was 63 in 1891. Oh, I've just remembered, he died, Burnley District, in 1897, aged 68. Silly me !

Mary was born 19 November 1823. (HEAP, later WATSON, then she had to go and marry a SMITH !). Various possible deaths on Lancs BMD. She is my main interest, gt-gt-gran.

Thanks in advance.

Rex

Didn't see your message before I left.

I looked for Francis Smith - not at Haggate.

Looked for Mary Smith but there were quite a few as I'm sure you can imagine and at the time, I didn't know any additional info. Sorry.

You can count Haggate out for Francis though.
