I don't think they are the ones I'm afraid. The match I got on free BMD ,James and Annie married in 1892, they were both born 1872
so they would be 21 by then?

Why couldn't I be a Middleton  ? No problem finding their family was there

:) Thanks Gloria, they match up nicely and their daughter Florence was born 6 months later

There was a free ref. to a James who died March 1952 age 72? Could he match my missing gt. uncle.

:D I think I'm 99% sure I have found the 'missing link' in this family.

On the electoral register there is a James AND Annie living at Tunstill St ( which appears to be the bit they demolished last year)

Nothing in the Express about his death so it looks as though their money was in short supply?

The Florrie ( Florence?)who would match their daughter in age, was also living alone when she died.

Just need to find where James is buried now, hoping Renee Halstead will find him buried with his parents at Haggate.

Hi Hannah,

I do apologise, but I haven`t been receiving any messages to say there were any new posts.

There is a way of matching up who is buried in the same grave.
Go to Google and as an example type in the following including the inverted commas:
Grave A6590 Burnley Cemetery “www.lan-opc.org.uk”
When you get the hits make sure you click on the show all.
Next click on the Cached bit for each hit.
When the page opens press Ctrl and F and type in the grave number: A6590.
The first hit will be your highlighted search query at the top of the page and the next one should be one of the people who are buried in that grave. Return to the search results and do the same for each hit and you should be able to group them. It`s a bit fiddly but extremely useful.

I notice that Annie and family are in the Dissenters plot so was James a different religion?

Florrie Eastwood is buried in the same grave as an Arthur Harrison Risdale aged 52 of 3 Queensberry Road who was buried 13th September, 1938.

Regards,
Mo

Hi Mo,
I will wait till tomorrow to follow your instructions, bit of toothache :( is impeding my brainwaves.

James and Annie were both attenders of Elim Methodists as were the rest of the family? Now I'm baffled.

As for Florence, buried with a 'strange man' oh dear  what a family I have found.

Hopefully tomorrow I will be in semi working order ,or  visiting the dentist

thanks Hannah

Hi Hannah,

So sorry to hear about your toothache as there is nothing worse. Get to the dentist tomorrow - thats an order!

It may be worth checking the actual Grave Register for the Cemetery at the library. It could be that James has just been missed off the online indexes.

Mo

Hi again Mo' thanks for the advice  it seems a bit better today, who am I kidding!

Back to the serious business, I didn't know they had a register at library. This will be a big help.

Have a good weekend, Hannah
