I would be very grateful if anyone could tell me who was the first landlord of the Starkie Arms ? Was it a Starkie? A few of them are my "grandfathers" going back generations!! Thank you in anticipation!!!!

I suspect the name Starkie Arms refers to the fact that the local landowners were the Starkie family of Huntroyde Hall.
