Can anyone tell me where Finsley and Sage Hill are please.

I found one reference to them on the internet which said they were in Brierfield but nothing more specific.

I believe Sage Hill was a flat 10 acre farm in 1851 census (Sage Hill, Little Marsden Piece:2254 Folio:110 Page:8)
neighbours were Hollin Hall and Marsden Height.

1841 census Finsley, Whalley, Marsden, Piece 509 Book/Folio:3/25 Page:5
neighbours were in Marsden Height

Thanks j9g

See http://www.old-maps.co.uk 1848 OS map.

Finsley is a farm just in Little Marsden on the left going from Haggate down to modern Nelson.

Sage Hall (not Hill) is a farm just south of the road from Marsden Cross-roads up to the Haggate-Nelson road.
