Looking for descendants of Mary Jane GARBETT 1875 and Joseph PARKINSON abt 1876 of Burnley. Their children were Annie Parkinson 1896 who marr Rennie EASTWOOD; Joseph Parkinson 1903 marr Nora Rogan. Annie and Rennie Eastwood lived at 14 Cowper St and had 2 sons Rennie 1917 who died in childhood and Walter 1920 - believe he survived. I also believe Nora and Joseph Parkinson had 2 daughters Irene Parkinson and Annie Parkinson. Would also appreciate help re mysteries I cannot solve re this family: 1) cannot find a record of Mary Jane Garbett Parkinson after 1903, 2) Do not know parents of Joseph Parkinson 1876 (this is blank on his marriage record) but he could be grandson of Paul Spencer, 16 Chalk St

Hi, I have a Rennie in my tree, his parents were Thomas and Sarah and I believe he was born in 1909 and died sometime in the 80's, but they lived on Frazer St.

So probably no good to you as I don't recognise any of the other names you mentioned, sorry :(

I think you are right in the assumption that Rennie and Annies first son does appear to have died when he was three in 1920, the year in which Walter was born.

There seem to be no records of his death but there are three possible marriages

1942 and her surname was Emmott
or 1947 Riley
or1950 to Dawes

Will keep looking but they don't seem to be mine.

Have found Violet Emmott married to Walter and had a son Derek in 1948 but there don't seem to be any more children listed.

Thanks for all this Hannah
Agree we have two different men called Rennie Eastwood. Did yours marry Doris Buzzo in 1936? (On Lancs Online Parish Clerk)

Think my Rennie's surviving son, Walter, is the person who death was reg Burnley and Pendle 1974 but don't know how to choose between the possible marriages you have identified.

Could our Eastwood families be connected? Rennie b. 1897 was son of Daniel Eastwood and Ellen (poss Rawson). This family lived for a long time at 2 Gilbert St (described on different records as Briercliffe or Harle Syke). Daniel and Ellen were buried in St James Briercliffe in 1918 and 1937. Think Daniel's parents were Thomas Eastwood and Mary (poss Nutter) also buried there in 1876 and 1872. Are any of these familiar?

Yes mine married Doris Busso.

Mine all lived originally in Lane Head, Briercliffe Rd area and most are buried inBriercliffe, with graves close by of 'other' Eastwoods who I assume must have been cousins?

Probably a connection somewhere between my gt. grandfather \Benjamin and his brothers decendants, but Daniel is not a name I recognise, but Violet Emmott is the lady for you.

Hi Hannah
My Daniel Eastwood lived in Lane Head at age 4 in 1861 and his parents Thomas Eastwood and Mary (Nutter) came from there.

So I got distracted and started to look back to see if I could find a link. It may be Martin Eastwood abt 1785 marr Sarah Crossley. Children included: the line I'm researching: Thomas Eastwood abt 1813 to 1876 marr Mary Nutter abt 1821 to 1872, their son Daniel 1857-1918 marr Ellen Rawson abt 1855 to 1937, and their son was Rennie Eastwood 1896-1967? marr Annie Parkinson 1896-1977?

I'm wondering if your line is: The following is someone else's tree and I haven't researched it: Another son of Martin Eastwood and Sarah Crossley is John Eastwood abt 1818 marr Sarah Watson, their son Benjamin Eastwood 1850 marr Mary Ellen Leaver, their son Thomas Eastwood was born abt 1877. This Thomas Eastwood appears to be the one who married Sarah and had son Rennie born 1908.

I'll get back to working on the line going forward from my Rennie' son Walter.

Yes Martin Eastwood and Sarah Crossley are mine, but I'm getting a bit confused now with our connection ( if there is one?) they are a very difficult family to follow .

I think most of them are when you start looking at the inter-relationships especially when they keep using the same names. I typed them into my Ancestry tree so could see it as a chart

Your Rennie Eastwood (born 1908) is descended from Martin Eastwood and Sarah Crossley via their son John bapt 1817 and the other Rennie Eastwood (born 1896) is also descended from them via their son Thomas bapt 1813. I suspect the connection is too distant for them to have known each other and the name Rennie is a coincidence

:o Got there at last.

my Rennie was your Rennies 2nd cousin once removed.

We are probably related to a large proportion of Eastwoods in the Burnley area.

Now you only need to find the Parkinson link
