Hi

I am currently researching my brother in law's family tree and am looking into the Holt and Thistlethwaite family from Burnley area. In particular Joseph Holt b 1916 and his wife Winifred Thistlethwaite b 1919 Burnley. I know that Walter Thistlethwaite is Winnie's father and Joseph's father is George Holt b in Bolton @ 1863 but lived most of his life in Burnley. Would love to be able to discuss and swap info with anyone who feels they may have a connection with either of these families.

I have Thistlethwaites in my tree, but I'm not sure who winifred is.

I and half the population, in Australia, have got back to 1740 where my 5x gt grandfather appeared, his decendents are all around Colne and Briercliffe area.

I hadn't realised it BUT, I have Holts originating from Bolton area and living in Burnley.
James Holt b1825 Bolton married Mary Fletcher, they had eleven children one of whom was Elizabeth b1854 Oldham.
Elizabeth married Samuel Lockett b1850 (Rochdale) in Durham in 1872.
In 1871 they had moved to Burnley.
Both the Locketts and Holts worked in the mines and that would be why they moved to Durham and Burnley.

Hi

Do you know of a George Holt b Bolton 1863. He married Eliza Ellis (born in Durham) and in 1891 they were living 33 Higher Water St, Burnley. On George's marriage cert, it states his father as John Holt, Would be interested in any info you may have the would connect John and James Holt.
