Hello,
I have been reading the History of the County of Lancashire for the Township of Briercliffe with Extwistle in which there are several footnotes referring to the source document of ‘Folds D’, does anyone know where these ‘Folds D’ documents can be found.
Many thanks,
Ray R

Some years ago I used some documents on the SMITH family of Briercliffe, the ones I used were labelled SMITH A and SMITH B. Sounds like the same type. FOLDS were of Briercliffe too.

These documents were in Burnley library. Try there ? However, I think the local history service is much reduced, you might need to press for adequate service !

I believe the Local History service in Burnley library is no more. It closed a while ago. Not sure where or if the resources were moved.
