Trying again to trace the Sumner tree..

12 years ago this was my first search and now I lost the will to keep searching despite a visit to Bl ackburn to check records. :roll: :roll:

Trying to find the parents and further back if possible? of;

James Sumner born in 1859 i Much Hoole, later appears in Brierfield on the 1901 with his wife and three sons, died 1926.
There seem to be a few possibles, as far as I know he was born on a farm into a large family and left to find work in Blackburn, married, moved on to Brierfield to work in the mill there.

Anyone who can guide me back to his family would be a great help.

Yes Gloria, this seems like them, I found her somewhere, as Esther, but easter sounds better.
There were a lot in Much Hoole and they all seemed to have a son called James.

Just another thought Gloria, was the census giving them an address as a farm?

i seem to remember, on a trip to Preston records, that if they were correct link, the family lived at the same address on further census but Robert
was later listed as a weaver and another son was running the farm.
There was also a note that he was married to Margaret? Not sure where I got that from.

Thanks Gloria, have sent the details to you.

Meanwhile I think I may have traced Roberts parents who seem to be Thos. b. 1807 and a Mary and possibly his parents, Robert and Mary???

Many thanks to Gloria for her help.

Now I have Roberts parents as Thos. b.1787 and Mary.

Now I seem to have a lucky dip for Thomas's parents, John and Ann or Robert and Mary or Thomas and Mary. All seem to have a son called Thomas
born at about the same date.
Will plod on though :?
